About the event

The Doula Association of Alberta is hosting a meet up for QTBIPOC BIRTHWORKERS on Feb12 @ 7:30 PM.

We are striving to link people in our birth community in order to provide social connections, business assistance, support and help in building that critical network.

WE BELIEVE HAVING GREATER DIVERSITY IN Alberta’s BIRTH WORKERS IS ONE WAY WE CAN HELP IMPROVE OUTCOMES. We can't solve systemic racism alone, but we do know doulas are world changers, and doulas can help improve birth for all peoples.

This is a safe space for Queer, Transgender, black, indigenous and people of colour (QTBIPOC) to discuss mental health , birthwork and life challenges with a group of empathetic and supportive peers. The peer support group will meet on Feb 12 @ 7:30 PM virtually. RSVP AVAILABLE

We acknowledge that we are on traditional territories in Alberta of the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit people whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries. We respect the histories, languages and cultures of First Nations, Métis, Inuit and all First Peoples of Canada whose presence continues to enrich our community. We recognize the land as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting. We acknowledge the history of birth on these lands where First Nations, Métis and Inuit people were the first birth protectors.
